Where to Eat Near Pub Street in Siem Reap: Better Options Around Old Market
Where to eat near Pub Street without defaulting to generic tourist menus, with Khmer food, casual restaurants and better nearby options.
Updated 20 Oct 2026
You do not need to eat directly on Pub Street just because you are already there. Within a short walk, the food gets more interesting and the atmosphere usually gets calmer.
Khmer Kitchen
A straightforward central option for familiar Khmer dishes if you want convenience without turning dinner into a special occasion.
Khmer Taste
Useful for a cheaper local-style meal near the central tourist zone.
Malis Siem Reap
If you want a more polished Cambodian meal, Malis is close enough to the center to pair with an evening around Old Market.
Sister Srey Cafe
Better for breakfast, lunch or an early casual meal than a late night out.
Walk toward Wat Damnak or Wat Bo
If dinner matters, I would happily walk or take a short tuk-tuk away from Pub Street. Some of the city's strongest restaurants are outside the main strip.
What I would avoid
Choosing by menu size, street-front photos or someone physically pulling you toward a table. A huge menu covering ten cuisines is rarely the reason to eat somewhere.
