Dry season
Generally easier for long temple days and predictable road travel.
Hot season
Early starts and midday breaks become especially important.
Rainy season
Green landscapes and dramatic skies can be excellent, but showers and humidity need more flexibility.
Month matters less than daily timing
Even in a good season, midday heat can be intense.

I would adapt the day to the weather rather than expect the weather to adapt to a fixed itinerary.

You can visit Siem Reap year round, but the ideal daily rhythm changes. In hotter months I would front load outdoor sightseeing. In wet months I would protect flexibility.
