A practical guide to getting around Siem Reap by tuk tuk, ride hailing, bicycle, scooter, car and walking.

Tuk tuk

Still one of the easiest ways to move around town and between hotels, restaurants and attractions.

Ride hailing

Apps make short trips easier to price and reduce negotiation friction.

Walking

Central Siem Reap is walkable in pockets, but heat and road conditions matter.

Bicycle

Good for slower exploration and countryside rides if you are comfortable in traffic and heat.

My mix

I would walk short central trips and use tuk tuks or ride hailing when heat, distance or night travel makes walking annoying.

Hey It's Cambodia practical take

The transport mix that usually works

I would use ride hailing or short tuk tuk rides in town, then arrange one dedicated driver for temple days. That avoids repeated negotiation while keeping normal city trips flexible.

Do not overthink walking distance

Heat changes what feels walkable. A hotel that looks ten minutes away on a map may not feel like a pleasant walk at 2 PM.
