A realistic one day Siem Reap itinerary for travelers with limited time, including Angkor priorities, food and evening options.
Start with one clear priority
With only one day, decide whether Angkor is the entire point or whether you also want to experience the city. Trying to do everything creates a bad day.
If Angkor is the priority
Start early and focus on Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm. Use a driver rather than wasting time arranging transport between stops.
If you want a mixed day
Choose Angkor Wat plus one or two nearby temples, then return to town for lunch, a market and an evening walk.
Evening
Keep the night simple. Dinner around Wat Bo or the Old Market area works better than adding another attraction just to fill the schedule.
What I would skip
I would skip distant day trips such as Kulen or Koh Ker on a one day visit. They deserve their own time.
Hey It's Cambodia practical take
If you only have one day
I would choose one clear version of Siem Reap: either an Angkor focused day or a mixed temple plus town day. Trying to force both a full temple circuit and every city attraction into one day usually produces a bad version of both.
Protect the evening
Keep dinner and one easy evening activity. A one day stay does not need a second marathon after sunset.
Keep planning
