Angkor Wat Tuk-Tuk Prices 2026: Small Circuit, Grand Circuit & Sunrise

What an Angkor tuk-tuk should cost in 2026, with realistic ranges for the Small Circuit, Grand Circuit, sunrise, Banteay Srei and longer temple days.

Updated 20 Oct 2026

Hiring a tuk-tuk for Angkor is usually priced by route and day rather than by individual ride. There is no single official tariff, so the useful question is not 'what is the price?' but 'what is a reasonable 2026 range for the route I actually want?'

For a standard Angkor day in 2026, I would expect roughly US$20–25 for the Small Circuit, around US$25–35 for the Grand Circuit, and more for Banteay Srei or long outer-temple days. Sunrise often adds a small supplement because the driver starts before dawn.

Typical Angkor tuk-tuk prices in 2026

  • Small Circuit: about US$20–25 for the vehicle.
  • Grand Circuit: about US$25–35.
  • Sunrise supplement: often a few dollars extra depending on pickup time and route.
  • Banteay Srei: commonly around US$30–45 depending on what you combine it with.
  • Beng Mealea or much longer outer-temple days: often US$40+ because of distance and waiting time.

These are market ranges, not fixed official prices. Driver, hotel, agency, season, pickup time and exact route can all change the quote.

Small Circuit tuk-tuk price

The classic Small Circuit is the easiest benchmark. It normally covers Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Ta Prohm and several smaller temples depending on pace. For most visitors, a quote around US$20–25 for the day is a normal 2026 reference point.

See our Angkor Small Circuit guide and 1-day Angkor itinerary before agreeing the route.

Grand Circuit tuk-tuk price

The Grand Circuit involves more driving and usually a longer day. I would budget roughly US$25–35, especially if you include Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon and Pre Rup.

Our Grand Circuit guide explains the route and which stops are worth protecting if you do not want a temple marathon.

How much extra is sunrise?

A sunrise pickup usually means leaving Siem Reap well before 5 AM, so many drivers charge a small supplement. I would agree the full sunrise-day price in advance rather than negotiate the dawn pickup and temple circuit separately.

If sunrise is the point of the day, read our Angkor Wat sunrise guide.

Banteay Srei and outer-temple prices

Banteay Srei is much farther from central Angkor, so it should not be priced like a Small Circuit. Depending on the route, a tuk-tuk day can land around US$30–45 or more, especially if you add Kbal Spean, Beng Mealea or multiple long-distance stops.

For very long routes, I would compare the tuk-tuk quote with a private car. Air conditioning can become worth paying for once the day includes hours of road travel.

See tuk-tuk vs car for Angkor.

Is the price per person or per tuk-tuk?

For a private day hire, the price is normally for the vehicle and driver, not per passenger. That makes tuk-tuks especially good value for couples or small groups sharing one vehicle.

What should be included?

  • Hotel pickup and return.
  • Waiting while you visit each temple.
  • The agreed circuit or list of temples.
  • Fuel for the agreed route.
  • Any agreed sunrise or sunset start.

Your Angkor entrance pass is separate, as are meals, drinks, temple guides and any admission that falls outside the normal Angkor pass.

What I would confirm before leaving

  • Total price for the full route.
  • Whether sunrise is included.
  • Which outer temples are included.
  • Whether the driver waits through lunch.
  • Approximate return time.
  • Whether the quote is in US dollars or Khmer riel.

Should you negotiate?

I would not negotiate aggressively over a few dollars if the driver is reliable and the route is clear. A full temple day involves an early start, waiting and many hours of work. The important thing is agreeing a fair total before departure.

Tuk-tuk or ride-hailing app?

Ride-hailing is useful for short trips in Siem Reap, but Angkor works better with one dedicated driver. The park is too spread out to request a new ride after every temple.

For city transport, read Grab vs PassApp vs tuk-tuk.

My practical take

For a first Angkor day, I would budget about US$25 for a straightforward tuk-tuk day and allow extra for sunrise or distant temples. If the quote is much higher or lower, compare the exact route before assuming it is expensive or a bargain.

FAQ

How much is a tuk-tuk from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat?

A simple point-to-point ride costs much less than a full-day hire, but most visitors are better off arranging the whole temple circuit with one driver.

How much should I tip an Angkor tuk-tuk driver?

Tipping is optional. If the driver was reliable, flexible and spent a long day with you, a modest extra amount is appreciated.

Does the tuk-tuk price include the Angkor pass?

No. Buy the temple pass separately. Current official ticket information is available from Angkor Enterprise.
