Plan the Angkor Grand Circuit with the main temples, route strategy, timing and advice on combining it with other Angkor days.
What is the Grand Circuit?
The Grand Circuit is a longer loop through temples farther from the most concentrated core of Angkor. It is usually treated as a second temple day rather than a substitute for the main highlights.
Why do it?
Crowds are often more dispersed and the route shows how varied Angkorian architecture becomes beyond Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm.
How much time to allow
Plan a relaxed half or full day depending on your interest in individual monuments. Heat and travel time make an overstuffed route less enjoyable.
Best place in a multi-day plan
Do the Small Circuit first if it is your first visit, then use the Grand Circuit on day two of a three-day itinerary.
Transport
The longer distances make tuk-tuk, car or guided transport more practical than walking. Agree the route and price before departure.
Useful planning
Compare tuk-tuk prices and the best time to visit.
Practical note
Rules, access conditions and prices can change. For ticketing and visitor regulations, check the official Angkor Enterprise and APSARA National Authority information shortly before your visit.

Why the Grand Circuit works best on day two
The route makes more sense once you already know Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm. You can focus on architectural differences rather than wondering whether you skipped the essentials.
Do not race the loop
Preah Khan alone can justify real time. I would rather do four Grand Circuit stops properly than collect eight parking lot photos.
