A three-day Angkor itinerary covering the Small Circuit, Grand Circuit, Banteay Srei and the essential temples at a sensible pace.
Day 1: the essential Angkor icons
Start with Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon and Ta Prohm. This is the natural first-day backbone.
Day 2: the Grand Circuit
Use the second day for the Grand Circuit. The route feels less compressed than the headline Small Circuit and introduces a wider range of architecture.
Day 3: Banteay Srei and flexible extras
Travel farther out to Banteay Srei, then use the rest of the day for temples you missed, a second look at Angkor Wat or a slower afternoon.
Why three days works so well
A three-day pass can be used across seven days, so you do not have to visit on three consecutive days. That gives you flexibility for weather, rest and other Siem Reap activities.
Transport plan
A tuk-tuk is convenient for the core park; Banteay Srei involves a longer ride. Check tuk-tuk prices and transport options.
Before day one
Read ticket rules and the season guide.
Practical note
Rules, access conditions and prices can change. For ticketing and visitor regulations, check the official Angkor Enterprise and APSARA National Authority information shortly before your visit.

Why I prefer three days to one marathon
Three days lets you separate the emotional high points. Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm do not need to compete with Banteay Srei, Preah Khan and every Grand Circuit stop in the same exhausted memory.
Use the validity window
Because the official 3 day pass is valid across a longer window, you can place a town day, rest day or weather buffer between temple visits instead of forcing three consecutive dawn starts.
